ISSUE 9: A PHOTOGRAPHIC BREAKDOWN OF 'FLAMINGO'

WHERE & WHEN WAS THIS PHOTO TAKEN?

This photograph was taken at the National Aviary of Colombia in baru, about 45 minutes from Cartagena.

IS THIS YOUR FAVORITE PRINT FROM THIS THAT TRIP, IF NOT, WHAT IS?

This is tied for first with my " Blue Parrot" print.

WHY DID YOU PICK THIS PICTURE TO SELL?

I love how sharp this Flamingo comes through. It's like you are in a staring contest with this incredibly beautiful animal.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THIS PHOTO?

I love that it is just a strong headshot. There is nothing else to distract you from making direct eye contact. That's where, I feel, you are immediately drawn. The eyes.

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED SIZE FOR THIS PHOTO?

I can't say that I have one. This could easily be part of a collage in a smaller 8x12 or make a striking statement as a 30x45.

WHAT KIND OF SPACE WOULD YOU PUT THIS PHOTOGRAPH IN?

I think an entry way would be fun if you have it all alone.

DO YOU HAVE THIS PRINT IN YOUR HOME?

No, I don't. I feel it's to heavy for my house, and doesn't suit the mood quite right... But that could change.

WHAT TYPE OF FRAME WOULD YOU SUGGEST FOR THIS PRINT?

BLACK. BLACK. BLACK. Keep it clean, simple, and definitely don't let it distract from this bird.
